Blunt enjoys US gold
James Blunt's debut album "Back To Bedlam" was certified Gold last week by the US sales and industry body RIAA.
Already a household name in his native UK, Blunt's popularity has continued to surge in popularity in the U.S. on the back of a number of high profile promo slots. Blunt is one of a select few artists who have enjoyed sales of over 500,000 for the year (reaching Gold status). Other acts British acts landing a Gold certificate include Coldplay and Franz Ferdinand.
"Back To Bedlam" was the UK's biggest selling album in 2005, notching over 2.4m sales for the year. Blunt is also up for five Brit Award nominations.
Building on his US success, the singer/songwriter returns to the US next month for a pre-Grammy Awards performance at the House of Blues in Los Angeles on February 7th. He then returns to the States in March for his first headlining tour.
